It's your day off. You don't have to go to work. You have nothing to do. mmmmmm...You think "Why don't I make this a nyepi day?" You turn off ypur mobile. You take the phone off the hook. You turn off all appliances, tv etc. You enjoy the silence in your home. Maybe talking quietly to your loved one or kids. When nightime comes you light a candle or just one light in the house.
You had the best day simply enjoying being quiet and undisturbed. You helped however minutely to save power. You reconnected with yourself and your surroundings. You feel good that you gave yourself the space to stop.
The next day when you go back to the workplace. Your colleagues ask you ' What did you do on your Sunday? and you say 'I had a Nyepi Day'.
I would love to have that as a household phrase ' I had a Nyepi day'.
No pressure. You chose when and if you can. No commitment. Just a moment to come back whenever you want.
